Features
Engine
Cummins QSX15-C400 Tierr III TPEM electronic turbo-charged, charged air after cooled (air to Air) diesel engine has 400 (298 kW) gross brake horsepower at 2100 rpm. The 4-cycle in-line 6 cylinder engine has 915 cu-in. (15 L) displacement. The bore is 5.39-in. (137 mm) x 6.65-in. (169 mm) stroke. Peak torque is 1,452 ft-lbs. (1,969 N-m) at 1400 rpm (SAE J1349). Standard features are electronic diagnostic and maintenance monitor, fuel filter/water separator and engine / transmission protection systems. Emission certification: US EPA Tier III, Carb Tier III, EU Stage III The fuel tank capacity is 125 gallons (473 L).
Air Cleaner
The heavy-duty FVG Cycloflow dry air cleaner with restriction indicator has a built-in pre-cleaner, safety element, and Vacuator dust ejector.
Cooling System
Deaeration tank, with sight gauge for checking coolant level, provides optimum engine cooling.
Electrical, Instrumentation, and Accessories
The one-piece instrument panel flips down for easy servicing, is pre-wired to accommodate heavy-duty accessories. All wiring is color coded. The unit has a 24-volt electrical system, key-type anti-restart ignition system, two 220 amp-hour batteries, 135-amp alternator, main battery disconnect switch, mechanical pressure gauges, thermal reset circuit breakers, and lighted instruments. Standard equipment includes six worklights (four front, two rear), air horn, key switch-actuated amber strobe light, forward alarm, reverse-actuated warning alarm, and tilt steering. Gauges provided are fuel level, hourmeter, air pressure, engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, transmission oil pressure, and transmission oil temperature. All machine controls are Taylor Integrated Control Systems (TICS) using J1939 CANbus technology. This allows controllers and sensors to communicate with minimal wiring between the components. I/O modules are used to eliminate electromechanical relay devices and add reliability to the machine control system. J1939 CAN bus technology allows all machine data to be accessed through the main color display located in the cab. This display shows engine data along with warnings, and man/ machine interface data. The display allows service personnel to access data needed during troubleshooting (such as sensor status and controller outputs). Machine functions can be tuned through the main display in the cab. Tuning functions are password protected to prevent operator access.
Transmission
The three-speed, fully reversing powershift transmission has declutch and electric shift control. The torque converter is engine-mounted. The transmission is remote-mounted and has a separate air-to-oil cooler. Constant-mesh gear sets are actuated by hydraulic clutch packs.
Drive Axle
The high-stability, wide-stance, planetary axle housing is bolted to the frame.
Steer Axle
Single cylinder design. Tapered wheel and kingpin bearings are fully sealed and never need adjusting.
Brake System
Force cooled, wet-disc, air-actuated, service brakes. Spring applied drive-line brake for parking.
Power Steering
Hydrostatic steering system with constant response at all engine speeds.
Chassis
The all-welded frame has a bolt-on sloped counterweight and a tubular A-frame. Hinged doors provide easy access to service points. Cab tilts forward to aid in engine removal. Cab doors have three hinges per door. The elevated center mount cab and canopy is rubbermounted and provides maximum visibility, The skyview window has a tinted, unbreakable covering for optimum overhead visibility and protection. The black vinyl suspension seat with an operator seat belt is adjustable.
Hydraulic System
The large capacity hydraulic tank has a spin-on tank breather, dual wire-mesh strainers, and a full-flow 10-micron return-line filter with a replaceable element in the tank. The filter condition indicator is mounted on the instrument panel. The tank refill capacity is 190 gallons (719 L). The gear-type pumps are converter driven. Control valves are separate, stacked, spool-type. The tilt-lock valve prevents mast drift and torsional stress. The self-aligning, bearing-mounted lift cylinders have chrome plated rods and self-adjusting packing. Control levers are conveniently located. Valves are controlled with hydraulic remotes.
Mast, Carriage, and Rollers
The 13-ft. (4 m) ULTRA-VU rigid mast provides outstanding forward vision through the mast assembly. Two double-acting lift cylinders are located inside the mast beams. Tilt cylinders are double-acting with an anti-cavitation feature. Lift and tilt cylinder rods are chrome plated. Tilt cylinders have adjustable ears. Roller pressures are minimized by use of widely spaced, full face load rollers. Side rollers are adjustable. Main and side rollers can be re-lubricated. Carriage is 168-in. (4,267 mm) wide.
Forks
Pin-mounted forks are forged from heat treated steel. Square tip and bottom taper. Size 6.5-in. (165 mm) thick x 15-in. (381 mm) wide x 144-in. (3,658 mm) long.
